How do jobseekers view your company?

Recruitment and your brand

December is traditionally a quiet time for recruitment. HR departments are usually more concerned with managing their current staff and the annual changing the definition of a McJobreview process. In part one of the podcast focus on HR, David Fairhurst, Chief People Officer at McDonalds Northern Europe, takes a look at talent, in terms of both recruitment and management.

Fairhurst asserts that, in addition to the brand, even the CEO’s reputation is becoming key when considering an attraction policy. David’s own personal experience comes into play, having launched a campaign to have the Oxford English Dictionary change its definition of “McJob”, and having made huge improvements to the reputation of McDonalds as an employer.

Download the December podcast, to find out more about managing talent, and exactly how much (or how little!) employee attitude surveys matter.

We hope you enjoy this first edition of our focus on HR and recruitment. Don’t forget to put the January issue of Connection in your diary for the next one!
