Did you know: According to a recent study by Hay Group, a whopping two-thirds of workers feel unappreciated for the extra efforts they are making for their employers during the recession.
In light of all the festivities, we’ve put together a few hints of what’s likely to be on your employees’ Wish List this Christmas, and ways – so you can go the extra mile to show them they’re really appreciated.
Provide more financial support
The UK workforce wants and needs financial support from their employers, be it through relevant benefits packages or pay advances. For those who offer this support, retention is the reward, as well as a more engaged workforce.
According to a recent study published by Ceridian and Vebnet, almost a quarter of employees said they’d like more financial support from their employers.
Set up a mentoring program
Mentoring programs are a great way to improve worker performance and morale. Even starting on a small scale can benefit all parties involved.
Keep your employees in the communication loop
Keeping your employees well informed about the company’s plans and progress will not only give your employees peace of mind, but it will also help increase their confidence in you.
Arrange a team outing
Do some research and have a look at any local events running in your area in December. This might choose to watch a Christmas play, visit the local Christmas market or enjoy a hearty Christmas lunch.
Give suitable reward and recognition
Recognition ranks as one of the most powerful motivators playing an important role in effective reward schemes. Whether it’s praise for a job well done, or a manager who listens to his employees, appreciation can go a long way.
This is the perfect time to go the extra mile and show your employees how much their hard work is valued. Remember, even the smallest gesture will be remembered.
