According to Gartner research, payroll outsourcing continues to grow steadily and is forecast to continue to do so for several years as more companies look at payroll outsourcing as a way to reduce HR costs quickly and enhance service levels to employees and managers. The payroll BPO market is growing in both traditional and cloud–based versions of its offerings and in both emerging and mature markets. Gartner forecasts the total HR BPO market to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.5% through 2017; as payroll BPO represents approximately one-half of this market, Gartner believes it will grow at a comparable CAGR.
