Record registrations for Ceridian UK Customer Conference focusing on auto-enrolment
Keynote speaker Minister for Pensions
Over 500 customers from a wide variety of industry sectors and sizes have so far registered for the 2013 Ceridian Customer Conference being held on Thursday 28 February 2013 at the London Hilton, Park Lane. Organised by one of the UK’s leading HR technology and service providers, the conference will principally focus on the recent pension reform legislation and how organisations can best meet their auto-enrolment obligations.
Doug Sawers, Managing Director of Ceridian UK, said:
The record number of customer registrations – over double the previous record for our annual event – is evidence of the growing concern among businesses on how best to comply with the recent pension reform and mitigate the extra cost involved in administration and contributions.
Without question, auto enrolment represents the biggest change to the cost of employment to hit UK businesses in the last 15 years. At a time of severe economic constraint, finding the right solutions to minimise the cost impact of these changes is a top priority for most organisations.
Organisations cannot comply accurately with auto enrolment without payroll. Only payroll can accurately and efficiently determine when an employee should be enrolled into a pension scheme and make a contribution. Implementing the right technological solutions is therefore essential to compliance and to reduce the cost impact. And organisations should not underestimate how long the planning for auto enrolment takes.
Steve Webb MP, Minister for Pensions, is the opening keynote speaker at the conference. He will talk about the legislative change and take questions from the audience.
Steve Jones, Pensions Manager at Asda, Britain’s second largest grocery retailer, will join Ceridian’s expert panel to discuss the auto-enrolment process and share his experiences of meeting the new pension reform obligations on behalf of his 175,000 colleagues. From the outset, Asda wanted every aspect of compliance to be fully respected and easily auditable.
Second keynote speaker, Tanith Dodge, Director of Human Resources at Marks & Spencer, named Most Influential HR Practitioner in the UK private sector in 2012, will talk about the HR transformation at Marks & Spencer, and how M&S challenged change.
The Ceridian Customer Conference will take place on Thursday, February 28 between 09.30 and 16.40 at the Hilton on Park Lane, 22 Park Lane, London, W1K 1BE.
